1-30-10

Taking two classes, plus a Spanish class, training for the Walker Pump & Run, and working full time has proved too much to add this to the mix. It was fun, and I'd like to do it again. It really makes you think "if I eat this nutritrion-less food, I'm going to have to show everybody later" and it helped me to make better choices. This is a great way to go for someone who needs to eat better. I'll try again in May when school is over.

Body Weight - 144.2lbs
Body Fat - 11%
I've gained 4lbs. ish since I've started lifting weights 2 months ago, and lost 1% BF.
Awesome.
My goal is to gain 2lbs. a month, and stay at 11-12% BF until I'm 150lbs. It's going to be harder since school just started, but the will to win is worthless without the will to prepare. Of course, this implies I win something when I reach my goal weight. Maybe a triple Baconator super size meal from Wendy's. It has 2,140 calories (aka energy) and 112 grams of fat.

What this blog is for:

I'd like to think I eat healthy. But do I? I mean, really? Sometimes I think they know me by name at the drive in at KFC down the road. So how can I possibly believe that I really do 'eat healthy'? And do I even believe that? Some days, I do. Some days, I know I don't. But what about all those days in between those days, where it really counts? It's not that one day you ate so much, your button on your pants flew off. It's the 'normal life' days where it really counts. And that is what 90% of your life is, just 'another day, another dollar' type days. You are not twenty pounds overweight because you ate like an animal at Thanksgiving, or ate a quart of Haggan-Daaz during your favorite movie. People are overweight (or malnutritioned) because they over eat, or eat junk, day after monotonous day (about 90% of life, wouldn't you say?) That's what this blog is about.
I'm not counting calories. I'm not measuring my food. I'm not concerned about keeping a 40/30/30 ratio. I am going to eat as much food as I can that doesn't have a nutrition label. Lots of chicken, beef, eggs, vegetables and fruit. I'm going to cut back on the carbs, especially pasta. I won't record the water I drink. (that would take even more of a commitment to keep track of, and I'm not that psychotic. When I void the bladder, I'll just make sure it's more clear than yellow. If not, I'll drink more.)
This is not a diet. Diets are for people who are into gimmicks, and enjoy failing at things.
I will record everything (minus water) that goes down the hatch from January 2nd to January 31st. If it doesn't drive me crazy, I may do it for longer. It's only a month. Let's see how it goes...
